We intend that this page details the approaches we are taking, provide guidance upon the latest services we are able to offer and – when appropriate – the steps we are taking to safely build our business back to full capacity in wake of the COVID-19 outbreak.
We expect that there will be a number of restrictions that will need to remain in place for the foreseeable future – we will continue to update this page to show the latest information, sharing links to new updates via our Facebook & Twitter feeds, also.
Please can we ask customers to check back regularly – especially in advance of any appointments – to make sure they are clear on the latest service details and any restrictions that are currenly in effect.
Following the Governments publication of a ‘Roadmap Out Of Lockdown’ earlier this month, we now have a timetable to begin pairing back some of the Lockdown restrictions.
~ Restrictions around medical & welfare based grooming to come to and end.
~ Salon to reopen for routine grooming services from Monday 12th April.
~Existing ‘contactless drop-off & collection’ arrangements at the salon will need to remain in place for the foreseeable future.
23 Mar 2021A third period of Lockdown measures announced 6th January, with Pet Industry services highlighted as 'Essential Businesses'.
Updated restrictions published 12th January encouraging all non-welfare based grooming services to be postponed and businesses to close to all but those with a clear, medical need.
~ Salon is once again, closed to the Public for routine services, whilst the lockdown measures are in effect.
~ Contacted affected customers and advised of booking cancelations/reschedule for remainder of January.
~ We will review the situation again towards the end of the month and make a further decision on likely capacity & trading options for February.
~ Customers with a welfare concern for their pets to contact us directly for advice and assistance.
14 Jan 2021Salon re-opens for the hectic Christmas period
~ Agreed special dispensation for 'Sunday Trading' to enable Novembers cancelled bookings to be completed, by working 7 days a week.
~ Suspended 'Pet-Collect' service due to risks & concerns with visiting multiple customers/those whom are self-isolating.
~ Additional Perspex screens installed and signage covering Social Distancing & Mask requirements.
~ Doorbell added to foot of the stairs outside to further reduce the possibility of customers accidentally overlapping.
03 Dec 2020A second period of Lockdown measures announced for 'Non-Essential Businesses'.
Affected businesses to cease trading for a period of 4 weeks from Thursday 5th November - Wednesday 2nd December.
~ Salon is closed to the Public whilst the lockdown is in effect.
~ Contacted affected customers and advised of booking cancelations for November.
~ We will review the situation again towards the end of the month and make a further decision on likely capacity & trading options for December.
05 Nov 2020~ Routinely checked both Government guidance and Trade Bodies, for up to date measures.
At this time restrictions to remain in place and Social Distancing steps implemented thus far are proving effective in limiting areas for potential exposure.
Sept/Oct 2020~ Increased our working timetable from 2 > 3 appointment slots per day to service the seasonal summer 'grooming peak'.
~ Purchased 'headband' style visors for use within the Salon (in addition to face coverings)
~ Installed an intercom/doorbell system so that visitors can be safely screened prior to coming into the Salon
~ Resumed limited 'Pet Collection' facilities for vulnerable customers in the immediate local area.
~ Added 'Dog Parking' facilities to allow customers to safely secure their pets and enable 'contactless drop off'.
August/Sept 2020~ Resumed our Retail services once more (Pet Foods, Tools etc.) along with releasing additional batch of appointments and commenced with new phone bookings once more.
~ Added additional signage outside the salon with clearly marked waiting areas.
~ Additional Hand Sanitisers & Surface Wipes available for customer use.
~ Implemented mandatory face coverings at all times, for team members.
~ Installed a large Perspex screen on the reception desk to ensure social distancing whilst making payments.
~ Implemented additional 30min spacing between appointments to minimise the possibility of customer cross-over.
~ Limited appointments to single pets only.
July/August 2020Opportunity to expand or tweak service based on feedback from Phase 1.
Expect to continue with new approach and release a further 2 weeks schedule of available appointments.
Retail activities along with scope and hours of services still strictly limited.
Clear Social Distancing measures in the Salon remain in place.
08 June 20202 week trial re-launch to test revised working practices and effectiveness of safety setup.
Trial customers contacted directly and scaled down timetable in place.
Strictly limited scope of basic services, pre-bookings only, no Retail activities/offsite working etc.
